As I write this column November's elections are just a few days behind us, and Mr. Bush is in the deep doo-doo he has referred to in the past—and in this humble reporter's opinion, it is his own doo-doing.

Speaking of elections, our revered president, Roger Clarkson, informed me recently that following Dartmouth's thorough trouncing of Harvard, "several class officers met to discuss our class goals and an agenda for meeting those goals. It was felt that, for both the benefit of the class and Dartmouth College, we needed to choose a new executive committee that would take action in uniting and activating the class." Those of you who have volunteered will be notified shortly.

One of the volunteers, as most of you already know, is Al Austin, the new class newsletter editor, replacing the much-beloved but overly-burdened Charlie "Fuzzy"Perkins. Not knowing he had volunteered for the job, Al wrote this letter to himself, "Finally took the plunge and got married August 8, 1990, in Malvern, Penn. My bride, Maureen Finn Austin, a Dartmouth type, had the unenviable misfortune of graduating from that less-than-venerable institution of sorts on the Charles [where Al got his MBA ed]. It's a bit of an education process to set her straight, but Maureen is a quick learner." JeffMorris was in the wedding party, getting the inside track on what it's like, as he is scheduled to do the same in the spring. Other '75s were Stu and Stefanie Cable, Mark Ditmar, Billand Rhoda Guider and Kent Johnson."

Now that Al's on board as a full-time newsletter editor, I no longer have class moneyman Jeff Sassarossi as an exclusive source. Al and I will try to coordiante our publications so as to avoid unnecessary overlap. Sass provided me with the following updates on fellow '75ers. By carrier pigeon from Joe Durham, "May was a busy month for the Durham clan: wife Marianne and I had a third child. Leah Jean was born on May IS and joins Katherine 31/2 and Daniel 11/2.1 had my appendix removed on May 30 and was presented the Ohio State University College of Medicine Department of Surgery Teaching Award two days later! I am a vascular surgeon on the faculty of Ohio State. Randy Miller '76 is a heart surgeon and lives down the street from us. Small world (around the girdled earth they roam!)."

On a more personal note comes this letter to Sass from Dave Rousse: "Saw your mom over Labor Day at Bane C.C. Vermont was beautiful that weekend. Sometimes I forget that there's a difference between being in New England and being in upper Vermont. Just saw my youngest off to kindergarten (Scott '07). Finally getting full bang for my property tax dollars, if there is such a thing. Julie '02 is now in fifth grade. Time flies."

In the news recently is classmate DickGreen, whose little company Corporate Microsystems Inc. (CMI) hit big time with a $1 million contract from PepsiCo to implement polling systems into 7,000 of their fast food restaurants, allowing the corporate mainframe to gather information about the daily performance of each unit at night. CMI beat out a couple of much larger companies, including GTE Retail, for the business. In the New Hampsire Business Review, "Green projects sales and staff will double in 1991."
