Stan Calder says that this writing program is a good idea and that we all need a shove now and then. Stan is looking forward to hearing from other classmates in this column. Our plan is working well since all four C's responded.

Stan and Grace are enjoying the good life in Boca Raton, Fla., which includes golf, swimming, and walking. He also keeps busy paying bills, checking investment opportunities, reading, and watching the movies. They are both in good health. Stan reports a good round of golf with Fred Stockwell, JimWells, and Stan Bolster, sponsored by the Dartmouth residents of Harbour Ridge.

Don Crance checks in from Atlanta, Ga., where they were having their first snow storm of the '90 '91 season. For Don, a snow storm is a delight, while we in Brooklyn, Conn., have other opinions. Don had a good round of golf with Hud King, Bob Kimball '46, and John Branfield '46. Don was the only one playing with an orange golf ball, so he won all the money. He ended with a nice word about this column, and that we all pray for peace!

Chester "Bud" Chase sent a detailed report starting with his being drafted in August '41, commissioned in the Corp of Engineers in May '42, and married to Doris Reynolds in San Bernadino, Calif., the same month. He joined Sentry Insurance in '47 and was in sales and sales management through '79. Bud's first wife died in '48. He married Lucille Baldwin in '77.

Bud's son Bob graduated from Exeter in '67, Dartmouth in '71, and Wake Law School in '74. He is now an attorney with the army in Silver Springs, Md. Lucille has a son who is a M.D. in family practice in Michigan.

Bud moved to Cape Cod, Mass., in '69 prior to retirement. He and Lucille are active on many worthwhile boards in Dennisport, as well as athletically on the beaches and trails of the Cape. They have traveled 49 of the 50 states, plus Bermuda. Thanks for bringing us up to date, Bud.

Brad Cole has been living in the Chesapeake Bay area, just south of Annapolis, since his retirement from the Bell System in '82. Brad and his wife, Doris, own a sloop, WhiteStar. They cruise the bay regularly, embarking in front of their house. Brad and Doris have three daughters, one son, and four super grandchildren, with another due in May. They winter in Florida and get together with North Fayer and Sigma Nu cohorts such as JohnConn, Fred Wallis, and Jim Wells.

The F's, who are now on deck, include Chubb Feeney, Mel Fenichell, BobFreedberg, and Mike Frothingham.

Keep up the momentum, guys.

It's alumni fund time again. Let's all pull together to give the class of' 43 the participation index and value that will earn Bud Hall a green derby.

I want to thank Bill Siedman for saving the Bank of N.E. I don't care what John Sununu says, Bill, you are #1 in Brooklyn, Conn., and New England.
