A month from now we will be gathering in Hanover for the 45th Reunion, and this is a last reminder to make reservations and be there. In the meantime there have been large numbers of '45s in Florida enjoying a pre-reunion. Moose Rowan reports that in early February Howie and Alice Sawyer hosted a "snowbirds" reunion in their Venice home. Present were Harry and Peg Hampton,Moose and Joan Rowan, Howard andRoseanne Germain, and Barney Oldfield. I have also learned that Bud Samuels has joined Alan Foster as a resident of Naples, while Cliff and Betty Jordan, George and BetsyBarr, and John and Molly White are all March residents of Florida. Harry Bissell spends a lot of time in Stuart.

Thanks to a Deerfield Academy 50th reunion update there is news of other classmates. Bill Ashley lives in Jackson, Wyo., where he has operated a retail sporting goods store, is now part-time in real estate and has been active in various community activities. In addition he has competed in masters cross-country ski competition, national and world backpacking, biking and all the recreational activities in the area.

Bill Drake was a Marine Corps pilot in WW II who left Hanover in June 1942, returned in January 1946, and left in June 1947. He is still unretired and is the operating head of two companies, W. Drake Publications and Guest Services Inc., located in Brookside, N.J.

Ken Eldridge fought World War II playing glockenspiel in the Port of Boston Coast Guard Band after leaving us at the end of sophomore year. He lives in Hyannis, Mass., has been head of Acme Laundry Cos., and is very thankful that science has not figured out a way to prevent clothing from becoming soiled.

After a distinguished medical career RustyJohnson, with wife Janet, is now retired to the Atlanta, Ga., area where their three daughters live and where they are active in church, hospital, hospice, and senior citizen activities. They also find time for boating, golf, and travel.

One classmate who is combining the Deerfield reunion with our Hanover reunion is Art Pounds, who travels around the country with Jean to check up on their six grandchildren. Art is mostly retired but does some consulting as well as a great deal of traveling.

Tod Riley has been retired from Loeb Rhoades and Cos. (investment banking and brokerage) for ten years. He and Alice live in Quechee, Vt., and are frequent mini-reunion participants.

Ending on a sad note, Spence Johnson relayed news that his close friend Bob Loomis died January 31 on the ski slopes at Sun Valley. Although he was not happy with recent happenings at Dartmouth, he was a strong supporter of Tuck School and was planning to be at our reunion. Our sympathies to Jean and his family.

We are looking forward to seeing many of you in Hanover in early June.
