Seventy classes, 1921 to 1991, had representatives at Class Officers Weekend, April 26-27, in Hanover. As an impressive example of Dartmouth loyalty, more than 350 delegates left home, profession or business to attend. Even the 7:00 a.m. Saturday sessions had full attendance. A complete report will appear elsewhere, but older classes were especially appreciative of James O. Freedman's Friday evening eulogy of John Sloan Dickey. "Vet the whole weekend was poignant for the classes of '21, '22, and '23. '21 was represented by De Witt Mallary and Ort Hicks, '22 by Len Morrissey, and '23 by Warren Cook. Like playing in the out field, it's getting "kinda lonely there."
And now for its 69th year, the class and our 1922 Ladies loyally continue to support the annual Alumni Fund. Though the 1991 Fund will not close before June 30, even now, in early May, '22 has 90 percent of its goal, with five classmates still to be included. Incidentally, the fund provides practictally, the fund provides practically 10 percent of the total educational and general expenses of the College. The '22 results reflect the lifelong support of loyal classmates and the 1922 ladies who contribute to the fond in loving memory of their departed husbands and our never-forgotten Dartmouth friends.
Sorrowfully, we have received reports on the deaths of two classmates: Col. RalphWright Totman, Oct. 27, 1990, and Rev. Richard Frederick Beyer, March 4, 1991. Obi tuaries will follow.
