Time to start planning, gang. That big 60th is less than a year away. Sid Alexander has the right spirit: "With the good Lord willing, and if the creek doesn't rise, Grace and I plan to be there." Sid also expresses satisfaction with the kudos Alex McKenzie has won for his contributions to LORAN. Alex, incidentally, says he splashed through the mudholes on the Foss Mountain Road in Eaton, N.H., in early May. His goal: "our south forty," where he and Barbie are spending the summer as usual.

Don Allen, retired from the chemistry staff at Eisenhower College, heard that former colleague's daughter, Lynn Curtis '83, was to be Artist in Residence at Dartmouth during the spring term. "The program was sponsored by the Nate Pearson Foundation," wrote Don. "Nate used to live just down the hall from me on the third floor of Wheeler." Small world?

"Life still goes on pleasantly for Ginna and me," writes Bo Wentworth, "although a recent cruise to the Galapagos Islands proved rather strenuous for a couple of octogenarians." Bo reports that Bob Harrison, whose obituary will appear in a later issue, served in his wedding party 55 years ago.

Speaking of octogenarians, we have welcomed Shel Reed to the club. Shel enjoyed his 80th, but "not so enjoyable was a cancer of the prostate." Fortunately his was "killed off with 35 daily radiations." Shell advises classmates with prostate problems to save themselves woe by seeing a doctor pronto. Great advice, but have you read the May DAM?

Ed Marks and Vera Barad spent two weeks in Spain this spring. You'll find them on Martha's Vineyard in July and at the end of August.

Dick and Eddie Stoiber's Memorial Day was a once-in-a-lifetime affair. Daughter Chris and son Phil invited a large celebratory group to the Outing Club House in honor of their parents' 50th wedding anniversary. "No gifts please," except for contributions to a book of reminiscences that Chris produced at the cutting of a four-tier wedding cake. I spotted some classmates going through the receiving line: Art and Dobbie Allen, Grey and EthelFreeman, Frank and Dorothy Gilbert, and Terry Nitschelm.

John Boenneester, on piano, got the '31 60th Reunion off to a good stmt by leading Jimand Harriet Lyall and Kirk Baron in a rousing rendition of "Dartmouth's in TownAgain'" during registration at the Hanover Inn.
