Walt Daggett checks in with a fine letter to bring us up to date. Walt retired from his Pepsi franchise about ten years ago. His area included most of the Northwest, Alaska and Hawaii. He and his wife Marjorie honeymooned in Hanover in late '42 and early '43. She has been stricken with Alzheimer's Disease for the past 20 years.

He has three sons whom he sees frequently. Andy, the oldest, joins Walt for golf, Scott manages his financial affairs as a stockbroker, and Russ, the youngest, argues affairs of the world and has just written a book "The Global Negotiator" published by Harper. One grandson rounds out the family.

Walt plays golf frequently. He shoots his age, and he is scheduled to be President of the Seattle Golf Club. He loves the old Dartmouth, non-committal about the present, but remembers with everlasting joy the great guys of' 42 and '43 (his two classes).

The D's let us down badly. Dixie Daniels and Mike Diaz both promised letters after my phone call. Mike thought that Dampier was lost somewhere in Palm Springs. Since Damp is Mike's son's godfather, and the boy wanted to contact Damp about a loan, Mike is anxious to know where he is!

Anyway, your pictures have been turned to the wall, and the only way for you boys to get absolution is with a late entry to be mixed in with the E's, F's, and G's.

Charlie Cusack sent a note about a trip to Arizona where he was George Munroe's picture in the Mining Hall of Fame, and also met a character James "Sluicebox" Jones, who knew both George and the late Henry Gerber from mining jobs in South America.

Milt Binswanger sent me a greenie (sorry Eddie) saying that he was well, happily married to Lenore for 48 years, and they have three children and seven grandchildren.

Jim Adams, who was my best correspondent prior to the current draft, advises that he will be attending this year's Dartmouth-Holy Cross game. With a straight face he claims the 49ers are underwriting his trip, so that he can find replacements for Roger Craig and Ronnie Lott.

Pres Brooks sent in a tentative reservation for our May mini-mini reunion on Cape Cod. Pres is president of the Dartmouth Club of C.C., and he invites all visitors to the monthly luncheons (except in the summer). ChanStevens is VP of the Club.

Herb Marx sent me an excerpt from the New York Times Book Review which mentioned John Reps in the write-up of Nature'sMetropolis.

Report from Boca Grande, Fla.: The home of Julie and Emmett Fallon '45 is up and truly a showplace. Also the home of Diek and Barbara Mayberry '44 is about 85% complete, and it will be another showplace. Now if we could get a '43 and '42 to build a house there, Shirley and I could spend a week with each, and that would cover our March vacation. Shirley collected 872 shark's teeth this year which brings her total to over 3,000. Jim Adams also sent us one from Venice, Fla., but it crumbled en route due to old age (six million years).

We talked with Dick and Jane Kimmel, who were well and enjoying golf, Marie Kane who was so busy she didn't know her plans for the next day, let alone the fall mini-reunion, and Judy and Ray Colby, who stretched their time out of Montpelier, Vt., to four months.

The next list of designated correspondents include Howard Geer, Fred Geller, JimGilbert, and Jim Gilfillan. Wait for our draft notices to arrive in the mail.

I regret to report the death of Tom Gerber at his home in Concord, N.H., February 22.

"Are you sure that's second down?" ',41s Tom Littlefield, Unc Richardson, Ed Lamer, andMonk Larson stop to debate the rules during their 50th Reunion croquet tournament.
