24 My last class column was written before my proposed marriage on May 8. Although it reported that marriage as a fait accompli, the soap opera which followed may be of some interest. On May 6 the wedding guests were all assembled or en route. I ended up in the hospital with chest pains and accompanying distress. On die evening of May 7, my doctor somewhat reluctantly discharged me and the wedding took place as scheduled at noon of the following day. In the meantime, the honeymoon reservations were all cancelled on the 7th. So, in lieu of spending our weddingnight at The Plaza in New York, we played duplicate bridge at the Dunes Club in Narragansett, R.I., and took first prize—no less than $15 net. The reports showed no heart damage. We are having a great time. We'll try honeymooning again come November.
