39 Our numbers have shrunk to 396. Angus C. LittlejohnJr. died on July 9, and JoeUrban passed on four days later at his home in Osterville, Mass., on Cape Cod. Obits will be in a future issue.
News being mighty meager these days, we have had to plunder the Med School magazine for class notes, which turned up the fact that Frank Cline is in robust health at his home in Santa Barbara, Calif., where he is busy raising and training Schnauzers. These, we believe, are the bright little fellows with perky whiskers and fragile psyches. Frank might wish a disclaimer on the latter.
Bill Webster reports reading about HankMills in a book entitled Tumult in the Clouds. This, he explains, is a story of the Eagle Squadron made up of American pilots who fought with the RAF in WW II prior to Pearl Harbor. They were then transferred to the U.S. forces, where most of the action of the book takes place. Hank is mentioned and pictured prominendy throughout the book. He is officially listed as an "ace" (more than five air victories). We thank Web for this vignette and can only add that we've heard precious little from Hank over the years. Our records list him as living in Porta Gorda Isles, Fla., but we have no idea whether he wanders north during the hot summer months.
A note from Wes Goding which bore the sad news of Joe Urban's passing said that he and Anne were having a good summer and were looking forward to making the mini.
Talking about hops and skips, Jack andBillee Coulson, up from Del Ray Beach, Fla., are spending the summer at Booth Bay Harbor, Maine, with their daughter and her family, and planned to make tire mini-reunion. And, of course, Horton Wainright lives year-round in Cape Neddick, Maine, while Bob Haslam is a touch further east at West Boothbay Harbor. So a segment of the class has become coastal Maine-i-acs. We tire of looking at the bottom of our empty barrel and count on you guys filling up not only our container with news, but that of Pete Cardozo also.
