79 "The Hand That Robbed the I Cradle"—Another bestseller by a '79? The fall feature at the Hop? No . . . the title to the videotape of John Saer's wedding in New Orleans on July 25. Unfortunately, the undasigned was unable to attend, butnumer ous live reports have confirmed that for some inexplicable reason Elizabeth Shelby overcame understandably cold feet and falfilled her promise to marry one of the last bachelors in the class. By all accounts, the reception at the Oak Alley Plantation was a major step up from Sunday afternoon fog cutters. As expected, in attendance were Mags, Ken Beer, and Ted-O, who is now gainfully employed on a full-time basis for the first time since graduation; that's right, at long last the California tan is starting to fade. Paul and Elizabeth Centenari also attended and provided me with beaucoup information. Paul and his brother, Peter, own the Atlas Container Company in Baltimore; and Elizabeth, who is still seriously debating the merits of life in Baltimore, runs a model agency in Washington. Richard and LindaWoodwell are living in San Francisco. Woody is with Keefe, Bruyette &Woods, Inc. Kevinand Debbi Sullivan are also in the Bay area. Sully is hoping to open a West Coast version of 5 Olde Nugget Alley soon. Doug and LisaWalbrdige have settled in Erie, Pa. They have three children, all of whom were incredibly well-behaved during a recent unexpected rendezvous I had with the family at the Pittsburgh airport. Wally is the CEO* of an electrical wholesale business which he recently purchased. He reportedly has given up tennis but "will challenge any '79 who wants to play."
Also in attendance was J.K.'s new neighbor, Buddy Teevens, who, as most of you undoubtedly know, is now the head coach of Tulane. Buddy and his wife, Kirsten, have two children, are the owners of a fugitive pet alligator, gator, and recently purchased a house Paul objectively described as "a money pit." The budget for public relations at Tulane apparently is significantly greater than that for Dartmouth; many wedding guests reported seeing billboards throughout the city promoting attendance at games through the "Buddy System."
