I really don't earn a living as a football tout, but I want to refer you to my column, in the Nov. issue, first paragraph, where I stated we were watching the Ivy champs just in case any of you want some advice about our team next fall before you place your bets.

The dead of winter, with those short dreary days, has arrived creating a somber mood which I'm afraid is hard for me to overcome with the complete lack of news from the Class of 1948. Somebody must be doing something different which I'd appreciate your letting me know about. I certainly don't want to bore the rest of you with my own activities, but I'm going to be forced to unless more interesting news arrives.

After working for Sylvania as an engineer for several years, Merritt Ball has joined a fast-growing, smaller electronic firm - Gabriel Electronics Co. in Newton, Mass. I hope that Merritt and the company continue to grow and prosper with the industry. Merritt and Virginia have a daughter Suzann, eleven, and son Eric is eight.

With the children now teenagers, and the remedies for this malady are still being bitterly debated, Bob and Emma Mohrbacher recently moved into a larger house in their hometown of Ellwood City, Pa. Fred is now almost sixteen and Beth Anne fourteen. Bob is still with the Ellwood Works of the U.S. Steel Co. As they missed our last reunion, we hope the Mohrbacher's will make it to the 20th.

Paul Twomey has been named Controller of Raytheon Company's Missile Systems Division. Since joining Raytheon in 1959, Paul has served in a similar capacity for the company's Distributor Products Division and the Microwave and Power Tube Division. He went to Raytheon from Sylvania Electric Products, Inc., where he was manager of distribution cost control departments. Paul and his family live in Wellesley Hills, Mass.

I'm anxious to hear about Lou Kraff's new job in California. He, Edith and the five children are now living in Santa Maria formerly having lived in Sudbury, Mass. Lou was doing engineering research work at the government's laboratories in Lincoln, Mass., which is operated by M.I.T. I assume he is now involved in some exotic space program.

Things should be good this year for WaltKliebe who left Bankers Trust Company in New York some time ago to join the active investment banking firm of Lehman Brothers. With the activity in the securities business this year and all of Lehman's good situations, Walt I'm sure, received a nice bonus. He, Geraldine and their son Paul live in Queens.

Sometimes when I am in the midst of my three-minute morning dash between the train and the downtown subway in Grand Central Station, I pass Jorge Saralegui who is living in Bronxville with his wife Titi and their seven (I hope I'm up-to-date) children. Jorge is general manager of the publishing service Publi-Edit Inc. here in New York.

The last time I chatted with Jim McLaughlin he was with the Cortland Furniture Company, in New York City. He and Jean are keeping busy at home in Port Washington with the varied activities of Jacy, Scott, and Mark.

Fritz and Mizi McTamahan are still operating the ranch in Tucson where they raise stock for rodeos. The name of their ranch is the Quarter Circle Lazy Heart. Their three sons should be good prospects for the wrestling team after practicing on the steers.

Three boys seem to be common-place among members of our class. Doug and SuePatton have three sons who are now fifteen, twelve, and eight. Doug is a salesman in Cincinnati for the Nivison-Weiskopf Co., a large manufacturer of corrugated shipping containers.

Combining a very active practice with a position teaching in the Fairleigh Dickinson University School of Dentistry keeps Dr. BillPruden very busy. Bill's office is in Paterson, N. J., and home is in nearby Ho Ho Kus. Bill and Dorothy's family consists of two older sons and a daughter.

Paul and Pauline Quinlan still reside in North Reading, Mass., and last I heard had five children. Paul was with the Postal Service in Reading.

It's been a long time since I've heard or seen Mike Shea. Mike and Claire live in Montpelier and Mike is a vice president of a general insurance agency in Barre. The Shea's have three sons and a daughter all of whom take full advantage of the proximity of good skiing.

With the large amount of building taking place these days, Sumner Sollitt's large engineering and contracting firm in Chicago have been keeping very busy, Sumner and B.J. live in suburban Glenview. They have four children. We sure would like to see them at our next reunion.

It was nice to see Rollie and Jean Sontag at the Yale game this year. Rollie looks the same as he did when he played for the Big Green and sure enjoyed the game. Rollie is treasurer of the American Silk Label Co. in New York and lives in Great Neck. Their daughters are now nine and six.

I will be seeing some of you before the end of the month and I wish we could get together more often. So long for now.
