As you read this is it should be mud season in Hanover, a.k.a. spring elsewhere. As of this writing, though, there has been a dearth of that essential mud ingredient, snow, and a dearth of calls and letters with news.
Shel "Wrong Way" Prentice provides a few notes. Wrong Way has been notorious for his poorly measured lunch time runs. Recently, in a two-and-a-half-mile race, Shel made a wrong turn and turned it into a 12- mile run. He thought his time was a little slow.
Shel reports Bruce Wescott has been embroiled in a controversy in Vermont. Bruce heads up the office of Geographic Information Systems, which is involved in any development plans in Vermont. Evidently there was some potential for privatization of this office when it moved to the University of Vermont, but the state legislature was not consulted. Stay tuned ...
Chuck Leer has his own architectural planning firm in Minneapolis. He is involved primarily with restorations. His wife, Mary, is doing well with her cabaret, Ruby Tuesday's. Also doing well are their two boys.
Shel also saw Roger Curley and his wife, Sarah, this past fall. Roger is trust counsel for First Interstate Bank in Phoenix. They have two sons, Kiernan and Sheridan.
Finally, Shel is proud to report that his niece Gwyn Prentice will be in next year's freshman class. She will be joined by her high school classmate and three-sport teammate, Debra Bailin, daughter of Mike Bailin '66, whom many of you know from Jersey City fame.
Mention of Roger Curley brings back memories of freshman track, the boards and dirt floor in Leverone, the cinders around Memorial Field. With those memories, can anybody out there give me an update on some old (young) teammates?
