In Pursuit of Excellence: '50 has done it again! The College has honored us with its Special Recognition Award. It begins, "Dartmouth College recognizes with deep appreciation the extraordinary achievements of the class of 1950." The rest is in Joe Medlicott's summer newsletter. It is truly a privilege to be associated with our class and its leadership, who bring their strengths to Dartmouth and honor to us '50s.

Ben Johnson's daughter Melissa Anne married Dr. Christopher Lorentz on May 14 in Baltimore. Ben writes, "In spite of his Yalie background, we consider Kit a treasured addition to our family!" Claire and MontyMiller are living at Mystic River House, an independent living community. Their new address is 201 Elm Street, 1-7, Noank, CT.

A new one-act play by Pulitzer-Prize winner Frank Gilroy was presented by the Studio Ensemble Theatre May 27-June 7. Tided Give the Bishop my Faint Regards, it is about two veteran Hollywood screenwriters. Wonder if it's autobiograhical?

Rod Stinehour is a Fellow in the Book Arts of Baker Library. He gave welcoming remarks, and son John helped conduct a workshop at the Library's Graphic Arts Summer Workshop, August 26-27. "Like Father, like . . Doug and Meredith Smith spent a very enjoyable weekend at Jim and Betty Moore's home in Weston, Mass., where Jim practices corporate law. Frank Harrington and a friend joined them for dinner. From Bill Embree: "We moved to a new house we built in the woods in Winnetka ... I retired last summer to play more golf, travel, and visit our eight children. Number-ten grandchild is due in October, with hopes for more, since two boys are still unmarried." Jim Hutton is now with Prudential Securities in White Plains, N.Y., living in Rye. He hoped to see Ted Remson and Nob Hovde. Nob and Jim both have yearround houses on Nantucket. Jim has three grandchildren and hopes for more from his still-unmarried son, Jamie, who is a chief engineer in the Merchant Marine. John Foster, still in Leominster, Mass., received his first grandchild, Sam, in February. John's oldtimers' hockey team ended second in its league. He plays tennis one day and golf die next.

Dr. Paul Lena is working with the American College of Physicians and the Northeast Medical Association, hoping to suggest a "citizen" group of experts for health-care reform and remove it from the government arena. In April he made his "25th trip to Tuckennan, and enjoyed the Sherbourne Trail all the way to the Notch Road." Joanne andGeorge Harris are busy defending The America's Cup and looking forward to the next reunion. Flip Charron played Deerfield songs on the piano for reunions June 9-16. He's dating a local lady in Worcester. WoodySmith, retired in April '9l, still goes to the office, mostly out of curiousity, and spends two winter months fishing and swimming at Naples, Fla.
