The telephone rang, and Frank Davis yelled into my ear, "Yo! Secretary! You're supposed to tell 'em every month that the 10th Reunion is June 18-20, 1993." . Then Anni Dupre Santry, fledgling mom, called. "Forget the Dan Quayle jokes in your column and tell people about the Reunion." . Cash Hound Kathy Coster sent a telegram subtly saying "Tell everybody to come to the Reunion and give LOTS of money." Ok, folks, let's make it perfectly clear: we're nine months away from reconvening on the Hanover plain. Make your plans now for June 18-20! The Sunset Motel is almost fall.
People from all walks of life have been wondering about Jeff Soldatis."Is he STILL in Cleveland?" everybody moans. Ah, yes . .. Cleveland. Where there are so few people at an Indians game that you can get your hotdog cooked to order. But Jeff won't be there for long. As of late spring he was completing his residency in orthopedic surgery at Case Western Reserve/University Hospitals of Cleveland. Jeff's wife, following somewhat of a parallel track, was also scheduled to complete a degree in art history from Case Western. Then the freshly minted grads were headed for Seoul for two years with the U.S. Army. Jeff also reports that Mike Chaudoin was circumnavigating the world and had been sighted inNew Zealand. Also, Joe Crotty and family are "well" in L.A. Well What?
There was a picture of Bruce Andrus M.D. in the Keene (NH) Sentinel. Dr. Bruce looks suave, debonair, classy, intelligent... and kinda old, too. Must be the glasses. Never mind. Bruce has been certified as a diplomat on the American Board of Internal Medicine. The certification process sounds ridiculous; it took three years of residency, two years of clinical practice, a written exam, an oral presentation, and a driving test in Boston during rush hour. Bruce now works at the Keene Clinic's Department of Internal Medicine. He sleeps an average of two hours per night. He loves it all.
Also on the medical front, Ingrid Llovera M.D.(I love writing that "M.D." stuff . . . can't wait for a Ph.D. to come along) has struck gold at Princeton Medical Center. Ingrid was appointed to the associate medical staff. She works in the Department of Emergency Medicine. To recap Ingrid's accomplishments since our graduation nine Junes ago, she 1) secured her medical degree from Albany Medical College; 2) received a Master of Public Health from Columbia University; and 3) then descended upon Princeton. Ingrid is now a member of Princeton Emergency Physicians PA,a group practice. Amazing stuff.
For all of you who have been wondering what Deb Glendinning has been up to, here's your answer (albeit somewhat delayed), and I'll bet you'll be surprised: Deb won the national women's amateur triathlon championship in July 1991. Last October she competed in the World Amateur Championships in Australia and placed second in her age group. Wow! No couch potato, this woman. One can only imagine what Deb's accomplished since then. Apologies for not being up to speed. If you have any news, please send it along. And don't forget about the REUNION.
