A pair of "Bury the Hatchet" Reunion Socks to Bert Whittemore for calling with news. He reports that Al Voulgaris is alive and well in Nashua, as is Sam Hull in Bedford, N.H. Sam has become a world-class expert in power plants and is currently spending a lot of time in Ontario selling power. Al is a banker in Manchester. Bert has also seen Dick Kurts's wife; no report on Dick, who must have been at sea at the time.
More socks to retired USAF Colonel SteveKatz, who writes that he and Patricia are in L.A. where he is working for Associated Air Freight. He reports that Mac and SusanLambing have moved into a new home in Lexington, Ky. No news from Crile and PatDoscher, who embarked on a sailing adventure a few years ago. (Crile didn't reply to reunion mailings either.) Mac and Crile were classmates at Mercersburg Academy with Steve. Tom Curless has been appointed to the board of the Overlook Hospital Association of Summit, N.J. (Congrats, Curly. We missed you at Reunion.)
Tom Rosenwald (John's brother), has joined the flesh peddlers at Heidrick and Struggles in New York after a long and fairly distinguished career at Medcom, Wyeth, and General Foods. (Congrats, Rosie. We didn't miss you at Reunion.)
Keuka College of Keuka Park, N.Y., reports that Frank Strong of Fairport, N.Y., has been elected vice chairman of the board. It was good to see Frank at Reunion, and we appreciate his help in urging people to attend.
The class has been extended the appreciation of the Alumni in the Schools Program (AIS) for a $10,000 three-year grant which was voted to AIS at Reunion. AIS is a national volunteer program of service to students and teachers nationwide. It enlists Dartmouth alumni as volunteer advisers, mentors, coaches, and consultants to children "at risk" in the nation's schools. Russ Brace has promised to send me more information on this program so that I can send it on to you.
