A note from Ted Wolf, shortly before his Tucson visit, says his January trip to Florida "was a tennis disaster but social success." Tendinitis in his right arm (from lifting suitcases) forced him to default as the number-one seed, which should be good news for Gene Magenau. But he took CharlieRauch and Flo Sturman to dinner, saw Aveand Julie Gould (Ave had successful surgery on a foot), and phoned Blanchard, Chittim,Fitzpatrick, Latham, Shultz, and Wiggin. Good president.

Since then I've seen Ted twice in Tucson, first at the low-key Will to Excel matinee presented by Frank Logan' 52, which was very well done. Then my sparring partner (to use Ted's terminology) and I were invited to what we expected would be afternoon refreshments at the home of Ted's son Roger '6O, but which turned out to be a tremendous buffet dinner for about 25 Wolf progeny from all over, celebrating Ted's and Betty's 60th anniversary. To help me identify members of the Wolfpack, I asked Ted for a family tree, but he said that was beyond him.

Hank and Gwen Odbert both sound hale and hearty on the phone, but Hank reports that a tremor in his left hand has been diagnosed as Parkinson's, for which he is being medicated. I must apologize to Hank for mentioning last year that he had been in the health center. He had not. Twice after minireunions I've been able to incorporate Pensacola into my return itinerary and have enjoyed visits with the Odberts. With Hanks urging, maybe I can repeat this year. Two others who sound hale and hearty on the phone are the Mclnneses (remember them?) after their month of beautiful weather in Hawaii. Blanche says Milt was "running up and down stairs." Milt says he wasn't really running there or anywhere but is feeling good and greatly benefitted from the vacation, as well as from the relief of transferring the Thirtyteer into Bob Keene's capable hands. Mini-reunion? Well, maybe, but it's as hard to get to Woodstock from Mt. Morris as from Green Valley.
