Baseball. Died September 14,1994, R.I.P. Itwashard to have much sympathy for either side, although I had a little less for the owners once they showed no willingness to negotiate. Seems there will be a significant number of bullet holes in the feet (selfinflicted). If it is the child in us that loves baseball, maybe Chuck Schudson should have been called in to mediate, since the strike would constitute child abuse. Speaking of which, in a letter letting me know that his son is named Daniel, not David (mea culpa), the B-man (Bill Shur for the unknowing) wrote, "I must confess the strike has upset me to no end, because this season was truly magical for the Tribe. Chief Wahoo is livid, as, I am sure, is Rocky Colavito."

Politics, another great American pastime. As you read this, results will be in. Joel Hyatt was trailing in mid-September in his bid for the Ohio U.S. Senate seat, with problems centering around anti-Clinton, anti-lawyer sentiment. This is Joel's first attempt at elected office since he was our class president in Hanover. Shel Prentice is running for governor of Vermont on the Republican ticket. Shel's platform is less government and a better business climate, the same successful formula he used in running our class for five years. Gary Dicovitsky was quoted as saying, "If Shel is successful, I will have to review my options. At this time, as attractive as a seat in Congress might be, I'm not sure I would want the family to move to Washington. On the other hand, Trenton is nice, especially if the house comes with touch-tone phones."

Henry Hakewill was named a vice president at the Northern Trust Company in Chicago. He manages marketing services for Corporate Finance Services. Prior to Northern Trust, Henry was at Stein Re & Farnham and Leo Burnett. He and wife Mary live in Willamette, I11.

The V.A. hospital in Boston has appointed Dr. John Dagianis as clinical instructor of ophthalmology. Dr. John is a fulltime ophthalmologist with Nashua Eye Associates.

Keep your late winter/spring open; there will be a mini-reunion in a place other than Hanover, at a time to be determined, with classmates you might remember. Update at 11.
