Yet again, I am struggling past deadline without much mail from my classmates. I'll have to draw from Christmas letters and newspaper clippings. Nah, I'm going to make a bunch of stuff up ... or at least switch who is doing what so that people have to write back to correct it. Mary Meeker has been abroad for the last few years and has returned to the world of "self-selected, non-carpool automobiles," barbershop singing, and taking care of nieces and nephews. She's working somewhere on the West Coast for some kind of consulting company (I actually know where she was, where she is living, and where is working, but you'll have to write me to get me to publish more details.) Before returning home she trekked in Nepal, bungiejumped in New Zealand, and went wedding crashing in Holland. (Remind me why you came back, Mary?)
Mollie Hale, who has long deplored being mentioned in columns has either (a) become a soap-opera addict, (b) had twins, (c) bought a new condo, (d) gotten engaged, or (e) started her own business. With enough letters begging me to clarify, I'm sure I can getMollie's permission to clear up this puzzle. In the meantime (before having done a-e), she's been working in John Hancock's agricultural consulting division in Boston and has been skiing, biking, and generally trekking around the country for nice vacation weekends.
Peter Murphy, hmmmm ... when I told Peter's administrative assistant that I was going to make up Peter's life if he didn't call me back, she laughed so hard that I may have to make things up even if he does call me back. Peter is working for a firm that makes electrified hamster habitrails so that your hamster doesn't roam out onto the street. Wait, no I believe Peter is now a vice president of strategic planning for a Fortune One Million company. Or, did I hear or read somewhere that Peter has started his own diaper service hoping to cash in on the baby-boomer II explosion? Trade in four UPC symbols and information about other classmates to find out what Peter is really doing.
Well, that's all the misinformation fit to print this month. Cast your ballots for the correct information next column!
