Welcome to 1995! May this be a fruitful year for all of us as we begin our thirties Tom Miner's wife, Rosemary, gets credit for updating me on some folks during the fall. Tom just returned from a two-year tour in Germany and is currently a surgical resident at the Walter Reed Medical Center in D.C. The couple met at Brown Med School, married in 1991, and have a year-old son, Danny, who keeps them busy.
Rosemary also reported that Kathy Collins married Dan Gisser, and both have their doctorates in chemistry. Jim Goodrich is an attorney in Cleveland and is due to wed this April.
Lisa Horowitz climbed on the e-mail bandwagon this month* Lisa recently earned her M.L.S. from Rutgers and is pursuing a Ph.D. in comparative literature at U-Penn while working a few hours a week in the library there. Husband Dave Huth still is with the same company he joined back in 1987 and is now the director of product planning, working in the health-care cost-containment field. Lisa says they "are following the health-care reform news with great interest."
Lisa is in touch with Jennifer ReaserGlass, who just received her M.Ed, from Lesley College and loves teaching kindergarten in the Newton, Mass., public schools. Husband Andrew Glass '88 studies law at Harvard. Karen (Kaen) Epps taught English as a second language in Washington, D.C., and now advises foreign students, taking them on tours and "giving them a shoulder to cry on."
Pam Gordon Furth and husband Dave have ayear-old sonjoshua. She left McGraw-Hill, where she had been for several years, to become executive editor for Longman. SamSemon is using his law degree as a consultant out in California. Melissa Duarte Phillips recently earned a master's degree in speech pathology. Sue Murray is in med school in Albany, N.Y.
I read in The Boston Globe about MaryHartman. Mary is a member of Shakespeare and Company, an acting troupe based in Lenox, Mass., at Edith Wharton's former estate. At this small theater company, the actors, directors and designers are in the unique situation of managing the entire operation, from box office to parking to office administration.
