Now that the members of Fabulous '52 are well into their sixth alumni year, there are three things that appear to characterize them: They've got gobs of class loyalty and then some; they are constantly on the move from one end of the country to the other; and they are reproducing like mad.

As concrete examples of my third point, let me give you a rundown on the latest. Across town here in Hanover there's a new boy, Timmy, in the Wigwam Circle apartment of Walt and Betsy Lashar, Walt Jr., age 2, also helps Dad with his Tuck studies. Frank Mate, appointed resident physician at Buffalo Children's Hospital on July 1, and wife Margaret, had their first child two weeks later, named Frank Clyde.

Down North Carolina way Randy and Noradel Wilson are proud of a new young lady named Grace who arrived last spring. Herb and Barbara Katz also took to the diapers last spring with the arrival of a second son, Eric Alan. Herb's in the retail lumber business. Don and Mary Rendall also had a second son this year with Douglas joining Don Jr. in the Rendall household. Don's with Keeler Brass Company. For Rog and Ann Pierce, a new Texan with Rog Jr. for a handle, is riding the crib down in Dallas.

Lawrence Samuel Drexler, first child of Dave and Judy, came into this atomic world on August 11 in a spot a lot of us would like to visit, Honolulu. Dave, a Yale law graduate, is with the Coast Guard. The first born for Howie and Patti Smith was a little lass named Sandra Elizabeth. Howie's assistant sales manager for Brockway-Smith-HaighLorell Company.

Getting the preliminary necessities out of the way for bringing on Dartmouth sons and daughters were Brew and Ann (Hathaway) Sturtevant who were wed September 6 in Longmeadow, Mass. Three of the class were along as ushers to make sure all went well: Ed Oberndorf, Norm Logan and Carl Stephen. I have a clipping that says Rev. Fran Frellick and Miss Avis Cox were to be wed August 25 in Oklahoma and I assume that now they are settled in Portland, Me., where Fran has taken up new ministerial duties.

Two engagements came to our notice this month: Chuck Nevens, with the Hartford Fire Insurance Company in Newark, to Muriel Anne Moylan of West Hartford, Conn.; and Art Judson, a salesman in investments, to Bright Miller of Hatboro, Pa.

Joan and I had the pleasure of dining with Roy and Shirley Wikstrom during an Alumni Club Officers' weekend event. Roy is secretary of the New Britain, Conn., club. Bill Thomas, who has just started his first year at Dartmouth Medical School, was scheduled to represent Chattanooga. He and Margaret live in Sachem Village and share the Buck interest in beagles.

Skip and Sharon Meneely are now residing in Colombia, South America, where Skip is a sales representative with the Armco International Corporation. They have one boy, Scott. Captains Dave Abrahams and Erik Gunderson have just finished the military medical orientation course at Fort Sam Houston, Tex., the Army informs us. Roy Megargel, a Harvard Law graduate in June, is also in the big town with Kirlin, Campbell and Keating law firm. Wife Kate is a Skidmore '53 gal.

Two more guys reporting Harvard graduate degrees, Ed Clark (LLB) and George von Peterffy (MBA) are also New Yorkers now. Ed took his Bar exam in July and now is with a Wall Street law firm. George, wed in 1956 to a Vassar graduate named Alexandra, is in the export sales department of the Free-port Sulphur Company. Two guys going back to school are Dorn McGrath and Dick McMahon. Dorn has one boy and he and wife Susan are now in Cambridge where Dorn is at Harvard as a candidate for a master's in city planning. He left the Navy this summer. Dick and Ruth are part of the Cornell scene where Dick is a law student. They have a daughter, Patricia, age a.

Larson, MA Tufts; Don Myers, DDS Tufts. Jack Ballard, a research fellow in the Harvard Defense Studies since 1955, has been named assistant dean at Harvard.

They have one boy, Tom Jr. Dr. Art Figur is a physician with the U.S. Navy, aboard the USS Forrestal. Len Hedberg is now the assistant manager in the commercial department of Pacific Telephone and Telegraph in Oakland, Calif. Len emphasizes the "in the." Dick and Shirley Dalbeck, parents of Barbara Jane who arrived on the scene in May, are in Lynchburg, Va., where Dick is a specialist in market research with GE. Rusty Jackman is a student at the University of Michigan Business School. He's president of the professional business fraternity.

Bill and Florence Conway have had a summer to remember. Bill Jr. was born June 5, Navy days were left behind in August and in September Bill began civil engineer work in structural design in Harrisburg, Pa. Also out of the service is Jack Barclay. Jack, wife Robin and daughter Robin are back in St. Joseph, Mo., where Jack is executive vice president of the Wire Rope Corporation of America.

Marsh Smith is now a security analyst with Burnham and Company in New York City. I had the pleasure of introducing my daughter Susan, 3, to Hal Morse's Betsy, almost 3, while the bagpipers were playing at the special Convocation here in September. Hal and Diane are now living in Chester, Vt., where Hal is a trainee with Jones and Lamson Machine Company. Also had chance for talk and beer with Cole Dorsey and Sandy Saunders after Diefenbaker's talk. Dr. Greg Peterson has been selected by the Air Force Surgeon General's Office for part three of a three-part Air Force-sponsored fellowship in surgery. His work will be in Urology at the medical center of UCLA. More news from the field of medicine finds DickCarleton taking up residency in medicine at the Boston City Hospital and Dave Adleras a medical student in Lausanne, Switzerland.

Bubs Richardson, now free of Army duties, is now an attorney with a Portland, Ore., law firm. Rabbi Marsh Meyer has another year of study before ordination. We saw Marsh and Naomi at the Norwich Fair across the river a few months back. Bill Davis is now community planner on the staff of the Bucks County (Pa.), County Planning Commission. He and Ursula became the parents of Helen Anne, first child, last spring. Dr. Les andBetsy Commons are now out of the Air Force and Les has begun his dentist's practice in Port Washington, N. Y.

Here's a couple of "don't forgets" to close this month's column: Don't forget to send your class dues to Ed Finerty. The class response to date has been tremendous, giving good indication that 1952 may add another record to its credit. For those who haven't already done so, don't forget to dig out that questionnaire and send it in - a statistical report on the class is being compiled. Hope you're following closely Dartmouth's exciting planning for pre-eminence as she moves into her third century.
