I've been in contact with Pete Blodgett, Larry Leavitt, and Radford Tanzer. All are chipper, and all have sights trained on Reunion. Ginny Newman went to Sarasota at the end of 1994 to work on boosting membership in Women of Dartmouth. It will be remembered that the society was founded in Sarasota.
We should all heed the call of Larry Leavitt to dig deep for the Alumni Fund. To dispute the first place of 1923 for giving the most dollars at a 70th Reunion ($171,021), our goal has been set at $180,000. Larry is anxious to have us reach it.
We lament the passing of Ethyle Montgomery, wife of Kenneth, in Portland, Ore. She attended all of our reunions. Also RuthWaring, wife of Ellis. We also recently lost Red Martin, Rog Stephenson, and Len Chace. Red was very loyal to class and College, and he endowed a faculty chair for the class. He and his wife vacationed where this scribe and his wife did in Vermont. Both joined in on many hikes and camp-outs, and Red joined in the long hike to Stratton He and his wife were great company. Rog Stephenson also was most likable. I went with him to a Cornell game in New York. Len Chace was a good friend of Pete Haffenreffer, who sponsored him as honorary classmate.
