Eliminating the clutter. This month, RobertRanco (RANCO@utxvms. cc.utexas.edu) wrote in to "eliminate some of the initial small talk" he anticipates at reunion by filling us in on his life. He's pursuing an M.M. in ethnomusicology at U. Texas-Austin (this is his second year). His primary areas of study are Native-American and African-American music. Robert plans to complete his class work next fall and write his thesis on the Mardi Gras Indians of New Orleans.

Davina (Begaye) Two Bears and husband Brady Two Bears '9l are expecting their first child and will move back to Wisconsin from Arizona soon.

Tom Swigert (HFDH48C@prodigy.com) wrote to say he's engaged to Annelise Skor, who is pursuing a medical degree from Northwestern. They will be married in August. Tom graduates from Northwestern Law in May. He and his future wife will live in Chicago, where Tom has a job with a law firm. He added that Mason Sandell has quit a highpaying construction job to enter the seminary.

It's not brain surgery. Or, maybe it is. PeteBrown says he'll graduate from Georgetown Medical School in May and then begin his residency training in neurosurgery at U-Mass Medical Center in Worcester, Mass., in July. He was elected recently to Alpha Omega Alpha, the national medical honor society.

News briefs. Diane Musi will graduate from UVA Law in May, will take the Massachusetts Bar exam in July, and will begin working for Goodwin, Procter & Hoar in Boston in the fall. Laurin Grollman is currently a second-year at UVA Law and will spend the summer at Paul, Weiss in New York City. Chris Henning lives with Laurie Rahmeier in Portland, Ore. Chris hopes to begin a master's in elementary education this fall; for now, she is a ski instructor at Mt. Hood and works part-time at a motivationalseminars company. Recently she has seen Amy Fulwyler, who is pursuing a master's in history at U. Oregon-Eugene.

Sarah Fjelstul is working as a controller for a start-up software company while pursuing an M.B.A. at the Carlson School of Business at U. Minnesota. Carolyn Choi is engaged to Jonathan Wormflash; they will marry this summer. She graduated from the Teacher's College at Columbia U. with a master's in English as a second language last year. Carolyn is currently teaching an ESL class in Bridgeport, Conn., while living in Stamford. Alice Wu is engaged to Frank Wang '88; they are both living in Boston, Mass.

Talk to the animals. Erika dePapp will graduate from Cornell Veterinary School this spring. Chris DiCarlo is pursuing a joint M.B.A./public-policy degree at U. Chicago. Deb Green will graduate from U. Albany Medical School in the spring and is engaged. Kathy Kelleher is also at Albany Med.

Fearless Pledgemaster Eric Fanning has asked me to include a note asking you to contribute to this year's Alumni Fund. Since we are reuning, we are expected to "raise an unbelievable amount of money," in Eric's words. Please call (800) 228-1769 and make your pledge; they take plastic if you want to pay right away.

Yesterday my boss, as a joke, asked me to call 800 information and ask for the number for 1-800-FLOWERS. In response to my query, the operator asked, "How are you spelling that?" He then proceeded to give me a number which in no way resembled the spelling I had specified.
