62 It's happening, it's happened! 'Tis hard to believe that by the time you read this column our '55 in '95 'Frisco Birthday Bash will have been a magnificent success. And for your sake I will have plenty of personal news to report for future columns.

Given the time restraints of tax season (writing this column now is comparable to composing a term paper between 14th Street and Wallstreet stations on the downtown Lexington Express!), I must rely solely on news clippings.

First and foremost, our congratulations to William S. Shanahan on his marriage to Rose-Marie Fox, as reported in The New York Times's "Weddings" column of Sunday, January 5. As many know, Bill is president of Colgate-Palmolive Co. in New York. His bride is a principal in the New York investment bank of Cornerstone Financial Corp. Our best wishes to them, and we expect to see Bill and Rose-Marie at many of our '62 functions.

Bloomfield (N.J.) Life reports the election of Dr. George Saj as president of the medical board of Mountainside Hospital. Dr. Saj joined Mountainside in 1973 and has served as director of surgery 1985-91. The medical board reviews and recommends the appointment of the hospital's physicians, dentists, and allied medical specialists, establishes medical staff policies, and monitors the quality of medical care. After Dartmouth, George attended the College of Physicians & Surgeons, Columbia University, interned at Bellevue Hospital, and completed a surgical residency at Cornell-North Shore University Hospital. Dr. Saj also serves on the board of trustees of the New Jersey Chamber Music Society and The Ukrainian Museum of New York City. George and his wife, Martha, have four children and continue to reside in Montclair, N.J.

Dr. Neil L. Drobny has joined Commodore Environmental Services Inc. as group vice president and general manager of Columbus, Ohio, operations. Commodore is a technology-development and -commercialization company whose products and services focus on solving critical environmental problems worldwide. After Dartmouth Neil earned a degree from Thayer School and then a Ph.D. in environmental engineering from Ohio State University. Neil continues his commitment to environmental issues in his many professional and civic memberships and activities, including the American Society of Civil Engineers, National Society of Professional Engineers, the Air and Waste Management Association, and the Water Environment Federation. Neil also continues to serve on the corporate advisory board at Thayer School.

The word is out that Prof. Thomas H. Cormen will be the recipient of our Class of 1962 Fellowship. More on Professor Cormen to follow in our next column.

Since prior commitments prevent my attending Class Officer's Weekend, during which the class secretary's batteries typically are recharged with novel ideas to solicit classmate news, I continue to be dependent on you for news. We really do want to hear from you!
