Two of our lawyers were the subject of recent press profiles. Pete Strassberger has put all of his various experiences and interests together in his current career. Building on his government major at Dartmouth and his law degree, Pete incorporated his longtime interest in international relations with an M.A. in international law and experience in the Far East into a law and consulting practice in Connecticut. He works with small- to medium-sized businesses in New England on the opportunities and risks of the ever-expanding world market. Lately, he is doing much counseling of individuals interested in foreign investments, and the interview indicates he has strong feelings about the future of various economies.
I happened to pick up a New Hampshire paper recently which profiles John Lewis. John is an attorney with The Legal Clinics and lives in Dover. One of many '67s heavily committed to community service, John is on the board of Lamprey Health Care and is on the public school board. (His three children attend the local public schools.) The paper was reporting on his re-election campaign. It is striking how the issues facing schools across the country are similar, from trying to find the balance between quality and cost to questions of regionalization.
Have you made your reservation in Lyme for September 29 and 30? Our collective 50th birthday should be a great weekend with old and new friends, fall in Hanover, football, a good party. What more could one want? (Penny and I are particularly happy since the November mail brought the news that son Nick will be in Hanover in the fall, and we can do a parent visit the same weekend.) Also, there is still time to make a contribution to the Alumni Fund. Dave Lowenstein, SamOstrow, and their crew have been making a great effort to make the goal. Let's all help us get there.
Send me some news.
