Anna Lloyd Caples Frank Loeb, widow of Jim Loeb, died at Kendal of Hanover in August, and a memorial service for her was held there later that month. After Anna graduated from Vassar in '32 she worked for Norman Thomas. In '38 she married Karl Frank, and they worked in the underground in Europe helping people escape the Nazis. She then worked for three decades with the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund.
After Karl Frank died she married Jim Loeb, and they moved to Norwich, Vt., in the 1970s where they remained politically active and Anna continued to support and work for the Legal Defense Fund and Amnesty International. She moved to Kendal some years after Jim's death.
In a recent issue of Kendalight is a featured article by Katie Black "Gentle Pioneer" on the life of Anne Bradstreet who came from England to this country in about 1630.

Dick Black's old football injuries have caught up with him again, and after several falls, he is now on a walker or in a wheelchair.
At the time of writing this, Dartmouth football is predicted to win the Ivy League championship, and we hope the prediction came true.
Rip reflects, Can "Big Bang" theorists be right And tell how things began? Can it all be within the sight And simple mind of Man? No matter how far we explore, The Gods convulse with laughter, For once we prove there's no "before" How come we have an "after"? And a Merry Christmas to all.
