Who can beat this "it's a small world" story? Sara Burbine was vacationing in London with her mother, when she bumped into Dianna Goldberg in a shop down the street from Harrods. Dianna was traveling with her mother and had just come from the Czech Republic. They had been hoping to dine with Jordy Green while there, but he was called out of town at the last minute to Moscow, Sara believes.

Jeff Tietjens and his wife, Aisha Tyler '92, recently moved to Los Angeles, where Jeff is attending law school. And for anyone else thinking about relocating to Southern California, keep in mind this reflection from Jeff: "It's fun here, with stars everywhere you look, but I refuse to call the smog 'haze.' It's SMOG."

Smog seems to be a recurring theme for people reporting in from L.A. "It's smog, smog, smog, but I love having the beach and the ocean nearby," writes Shonda Rhimes, who says she's still "doing the starving writer thing." However, it doesn't sound as if she's wanting for work: she recently served as the research director on a film called Hank Aaron: Chasing the Dream that aired on TBS. It was nominated for an Academy Award this year. Shonda was a bridesmaid at the wedding of Chad Fisk and Victoria Boesch '92. Dartmouth sweethearts, the pair is finishing up graduate school in theater at the University of California, Davis. It was a "small, informal, original kind of wedding," according to Shonda, with the ceremony taking place on stage. Before they were actually pronounced married by Chad's brother, who was deputized for the day, they sang a song Chad wrote. Shonda said the tune was fanny and romantic and probably the only wedding song ever with lyrics about trudging down the hill to the River Cluster. Married on the same day in September in Hanover were Ed Kerrigan and Michelle Brownlee '90. They live in San Francisco, where Ed works as a consultant for Seer Technologies and Michelle is an attorney.

If you want to get married, move to California. Donna Soave, a marketing manager for Cisco Systems in San Jose, and William Egginton, who is finishing up his Ph.D. at Stanford, are engaged. Donna is still dancing: she helped start the Stanford Ballet and dances with a jazz company. She told me that Keith Willacy and his a cappella band "The House Jacks" are performing steadily and have signed with the Tommy Boy record label. Check out the band's web site: net/Music/HouseJacks >.

Still more nuptials: John Barker married Julia Goodrich in Wakefield, Mass. John receieved his M.B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania and is an associate at AT&T Solutions, the consulting division of AT&T. Julia is an associate at the Boston Consulting Group.

Returning to Hanover are Peter Chapman, Tracie Gunion, and Paul Mutter, who just started their first year at the Tuck School of Business.

If anyone out there is interested in serving as a mini-reunion chair for our class, drop me a line or call me at (303) 755-3591. Mini-reunion chairs organize gatherings (usually at local bars) a couple times a year for all the '9ls in the area. It's a fun, nottoo-taxing position, and we need people from all across the country. So don't be shy!
