Reunion is upon us. You've already got one mailing from former class president Vic Rich, the Reunion publicity chair, reminding you about the dates, June 13-16. "Hitting Stride at 35" is our slogan; the emphasis is in bringing back classmates who might have become disconnected with us—the guys we haven't seen in years.

At a class meeting in Hanover on October 21, excitement about the Reunion already was building. Reunion Chair RogerMcArt has lined up a strong committee: Art Johnson, assistant chairman; former class President Gerald Kamin sky, reunion giving chair; class treasurer Ivar Jozus, reunion treasurer; Oscar Arslanian, entertainment chair; Pete Bleyler, class programs chair; and Bob Naegele, banquet and catering chair. Our Reunion dorms will be Middle and South Mass.

One major event will be the dedication of the statue of Robert Frost: our 35th Reunion gift to the College. A contract has been executed with sculptor Robert Lundeen and he is hard at work on the project. Lundeen did the now-famous statue of Ben Franklin at the University of Pennsylvania. The Colleg;e has agreed to accept the statue; the location has yet to be decided. Thanks are especially due to Mike Murphy and to Art Kelton for all their work on this project, with help from Dave Prewitt and Charlie Buffon.

Also at the October class meeting, according to notes by Vic Rich (I was just out of the hospital): nominating committee chair Dave Prewitt appealed for suggestions for new officers. Our Reunion giving goal is $351,961; our participation goal is 61 percent. Class treasurer Ivar Jozus reported a balance of $40,000. The class barbecue followed at our adopted dorm complex, the Facer weathers; 32 people attended the class dinner in White River Junction, and Dartmouth won a rain-soaked game.

Did you see the American Stock Exchange ad featuring a big picture of RonBoss? "A pen can write in any language. But ours send a message. Quality. That's why our sales are strong today—particularly in Europe and Asia. And why our new models sell as well as our classics, said Russell A. Boss, president of A.T. Cross Cos., listed on the Amex since 1971. "As we expand overseas, it's essential to attract analysts and institutions both here and there. A brand name lives on visibility. And the Amex makes that difference." According to a Wall Street Journal article, Ron is a centerpiece of a new ad campaign to set a more somber tone for the Amex, designed to entice new listings on the exchange.

Dave Birney is back on television, playing a veteran television news anchor, Harry Chandler Moore, on a new series called Live Shot. It's the story of a highly competitive television newsroom, where everybody jostles for air time. Dave's character can't be trusted to get it right unless it's on the Tele Prompter, so he'll do nothing off the cuff. Dave has had a number of highly rated shows, especially St. Elsewhere and Bridget Loves Bernie; perhaps this will become another hit.
