News roles in on our classmates this month from all over the country. From San Francisco comes news that John Somorjao married Hilary Caplan, an '89 from Stanford. John has gone "in-house" and is corporate counsel for Oracle in San Francisco.
Jeanne Sapienza sends news from Spectra Science in Minnetonka, Minn. Jeanne encourages fellow '88 supporters to cheer her on at the women's Olympic marathon trials on February 10, 1996, in Columbia, S.C. Jeanne will be running in the women's race and Bob Kempainen, current American marathon record-holder, will be running in the men's race. Jeanne encourages all to cheer for her and Bob, (in the men's Olympic marathon trials on February 17, 1996, in Charlotte, N.C.) especially from miles 18-26.
Chris Schons writes that until recendy he was living in western Guatemala with his wife, Ana Ceoilia Lopez Guardia, and his eight-year-old stepson, Julio. Chris was teaching at a local university and Ceci was regional director of a campaign to mobilize public support for the privitization and de monopolization of the "terribly deficient" state-owned phone company. Chris reports that Cecil then started receiving threats, so Chris and Cecil have now sought safety in Minnesota, where they plan to be living for the next few years. StephenDavidson writes that he got married September 16 to Cecile Covenant. Cecile is from France, and Steve met her several years ago when he was in grad school. Tom Stay was the best man and Becky Wood also attended. Steve is working as director of marketing for Ernst & Young in the Washington area. Bob Striker writes with Internet news. Bob found an article on the email that Mark Retik was married to "Michelle" in Cambridge. Bob writes, "I suppose the important question remains unanswered: 'Who's more geeky—Mark for having his wedding pix on the Internet or me for finding it?'" Bob tells us the ORL of the album is:.
