Inspired by blank columns, Pam Adelstein wrote in with a bevy of news. He has spent four exciting years in Albany, "a gray place where you have to be very creative in order to find fun stuff to do," while attending Albany Medical College. One of the fun things she found to do last July was to become engaged to MichaelWeissmann. They lived life on the wild side, taking an after-dark walk in a city park, "Perhaps not the safest thing to do, but it worked out—no muggers or thieves. The ring box had a light that went on when he opened it—I guess it's a takeoff on Indiglo." Pam matched in a family practice residency facility in Worcester with UMass this spring and Michael finished his second year at Cornell Law. Over the summer Michael worked at Bingham, Dana, and Gould in Boston. They have planned an August 1998 wedding (coinciding with Michael's graduation from law school).

Pam sent along news of several other weddings. Last September Mark Morrissette married Wendy LaClair. Wendy attended Mark's rival high school in Vermont, but somehow they managed to overcome this obstacle and achieve harmony. Last November Melinda Soule and Adam Person were wed in Orlando, Fla. And last December Amy and David Spurr were married in New Jersey. David met Amy years ago at synagogue. Pam's other astounding news was to announce the birth of Serena (Bucknam) Varley's daughter, Alana Finn Varley. Alana was born in January and "she is adorable."

Continuing the wedding theme, Christina Caputo married Jerry Gilbert '92 in Boulder, Colo., last Memorial Day weekend. Sarah McGarry, HilaryBranson, Christie Carlson, John Knapp '92, Rob Leggat '92, and Mike Bobo '92 were all in the wedding. The day after the wedding, Christina and Jerry coerced all of the revelers to run the 10k Boulder Bolder. Christina teaches fifth grade in Denver and Jerry works as a sales representative for Nutmeg Mills.

"After nearly six years together, LaurelDeck and I are engaged—we're shooting for a July '98 date," writes Andrew Baker; baker-deck@artnet.net. "Laurel is working at. a magazine called Azerbaijan International, writing, editing, and keeping the office running/functional. The magazine covers all aspects of Azerbaijani life, culture, and society." Andrew has been working at Dark Horse Entertainment, primarily working with a few producers to develop TV and film projects. On the side, off of company time of course, he's continued to work on his own screenplay writing. "Jason Venokur '92 is writing for Third Rock fromthe Sun, Brant Rose '92 is a literary agent at APA, Ari Edwards '91 wrote for MTV's Singled. Out."

David Cramer (dcramer@rmi.org) adds Josh Bers to the list of weddings. Josh was married to somebody, sometime last year in Buenos Aires, Argentina. David has "been living in Snowmass, Colo., for a bit more than two years now, working for a small company that is investigating ways of making cars dramatically more fuel efficient (90-100 mpg).
