I'm back! Five years the wiser and ready to roll, so please send me the news. First, the official business. In case you weren t at reunion (like me), the class officers you are stuck with for the next five years are as follows: Munir Haddad, president; lan Haft, treasurer; Tamar Gerber, head agent; Jeff Middents, newsletter editor; Craig Sakowitz, Webmaster; Beth Krakower and Olaf Minge as executive committee members; and me as your humble secretary. Most importantly, send the good news to me and the rest of the stuff to Jeff.

Eric McCarthy may have the best excuse for missing reunion. On June 8 he married Lacy Berrington of Derwood, Maryland, and spent the next three weeks in honeymoon bliss traveling through undisclosed parts of Thailand. Robin Tessier, Shawn Burt, Nick Brown '92, Michael Loga '94, Gregg Frame '94, Brian Heberlig, Clark Khayat and Michael Lisi '9O all helped Eric and Lacy get things started on the right foot. "The Heorot crew did their best to stay away from the dance floor—very much like their college days. Hebs and Khayat, on the other hand, stayed true to Chi Gam tradition and danced the night away. Lisi, the token AD, seemed too focused on his dip to notice and perhaps see the dance floor." Eric and Lacy practice antitrust law in D.C. and live in Potomac, Maryland.

Matt Bonaiuto has enough free time at PwC Consulting, even after their acquisition by IBM, to enroll in a 14-day Hungarian course, his "mothers mother tongue." His secondary motivation for learning Hungarian is to communicate with the landlord of his new apartment building in Arlington. The third reason was to facilitate his research on goulash recipes. Now technically working for IBM, Matt is curious to know how many other '93s are at Big Blue.

It didn't take long for Doug and Jessica Chia to shake off the dirt of expatriate living after returning from Hong Kong. Now in New York, they are expecting twins in January. Doug sends out an urgent plea for anyone in the New York City area to visit now. If you visit after January, walk in with your fingers crossed and hope that the new arrivals are more like Jessica.

So there I was this summer, cruising along a stretch of the Long Trail near Middlebury when I decide to cool off my kicks for a little bit at a cabin and sit back. The cabin already had a pair of people sitting on the front porch so I tossed out a hello and sidled on by when I heard a tentative, "Hey, I know that guy.. .Chris? " I was pretty surprised when I turned around and Carl Steyaert reached down to shake my hand. He was likewise out for a stroll and just enjoying the view. Carl is in the process of moving to rural Scotland, from Berkeley, to help manage a sustainable community. In my enthusiasm and joy of reacquainting with Carl, I didn't get too many more details.

But let that serve as a warning. Send in your news (please) or I'll disrupt your otherwise peaceful reverie on quiet mountaintops. I hope to hear from you soon.
