As I write this, you are reading, or have already read, what I would call an excellent informative issue of the Alumni Mag azine one dedicated to the 25th anniversary of coeducation at Dartmouth and, in particular, to some of the women who have meant so much to the College. To our class, it would mean the efforts of our wives and daughters, but not having personal knowledge of such I decided to pass.

But, on second thought I would be remiss in not mentioning the effect the efforts one wife in particular had on class morale and togetherness...She is Ginny Leach (God rest her soul) who, along with her husband, Phil, opened up their beautiful lakeside home in Fairlee, Vt., to the class for cocktails and dinner on Saturday evenings after the football game on our mini-reunion weekends. She not only opened up her front door...she opened her heart; and what was offered was her spirit of friendship and warmth to the many people who walked through! The many hours we spent there will be long remembered.

The March issue of Dartmouth Life had a picture of Heather Duckworth '98, Roy's granddaughter, on the squash court. She is the mainstay of the women's squash team.

Since you will be reading this in May, it is not too early to remind you again of this year's "mini" on Saturday, October 4. Things are all set—you will enjoy, so you all come! The details are in my individual letters, and, while on this subject, may I remind you to mark you calendars for the "Big 60th" on June 15-17, 1998 (Monday-Wednesday). I'm well down the road in assuring you another typical Francis Fun Time."

There is a saying..."no news is good news!"...But to me having no news to report to you is bad and that is my current situation. Fortunately, this is my last column until the fall and so until then, please be nice and let me know how your gardens are growing.
