Our 40th Reunion starts in just a couple weeks June 9 through 12 and for those of you afflicted with last minute-itis, sign up and come join the gathering. Call Mike Tompkins at (800) 526-9583, ext. 5821.

We have a good, big, group coming, many of whom haven't been back to Hanover in many years. We are all looking forward to connecting or reconnecting. The next column will be notes on the Reunion and will also be my swan-song, having written these notes for five years. Ted Jennings has graciously accepted the assignment, assuming the class votes for him little doubt of that, I should hope.

Bob Shirley has classified our sports activities for the Reunion into two categories, Active Sports and Geezer Sports. Hiking and tennis are seen by "Meatball" as active and golf and bridge as geezer. Whichever your choice or even if you'd rather participate in touring the campus or other nonsports activity there will be more than enough activities to keep us all happy that we came to Hanover.

In case you haven't read it elsewhere there is a big change at the Alumni Magazine. Jay Heinrichs, who has been our brilliant editor for ten years, has accepted a job as editor of a new magazine for U.S. Airways. Jay has made our magazine a consistent "good read" and award winner. His shoes will be hard to fill and I'm sure we all thank him for his great service and wish him well.

In the March issue I had asked for information about the Lord Caccia. I got a good note from Harold O'Connell Jr. '55 explaining that Harold Caccia was British ambassador to the United States when he was made an honorary member of our class, and "that as ambassadors go, he was quite well known in the U.S.A." He later served in the House of Lords.

Recent references to classmates that have surfaced include a write-up concerning John Holliday of Waddell & Reed Investment Management Co. The bond funds he manages are ranked by Lipper among the top, his general fund being third of 62 over ten years in total return and his high-yield fund second of 13 funds. He is quoted as saying, "I'm not necessarily going to be number one for the year but I'm going to be up there for longer periods of time." John is coming to Reunion. Don Bak was honored as leader of a small business of the year by the Delaware County Chamber of Commerce. Don is active in many Philadelphia area minority groups and community groups. He and his wife started their architectural practice in 1975 and today he and daughter Sandra Baggot run the firm. In receiving his award Dan commended the American system which makes it possible for people of perseverance "to enjoy the fruit of free enterprise."
