Shortly I shall be mailing to Ed Brummer a suggestion of making a gift now to the College, paid for from funds in the class treasury. Such a gift would be an alternative to just leaving what's left in the treasury to the Alumni Fund after the last of our living classmates has met the man in the bright nightgown.
In that suggestion to Ed I shall make a motion to be presented to the class executive committee at its mini-reunion meeting for its action or inaction on the establishment of the procedure for offering such gift. I shall have taken the liberty of sending a copy to Spence Miller in the event Prexy Brummer wants the motion to be put in legalesa-, I believe that many of you will find the gift I have in mind to be worthy of consideration. Perhaps John H.Chamberlin and/or Margaret Bean may include in the next newsletter that motion and my reasons for offering it.
The June 10 issue of the PrincetonAlumni Weekly has an article on the nearcompletion of the new Princeton Stadium, from which I quote: "Walters (DA of Princeton) expects a full house at the September 19 opener. To encourage healthy attendance throughout the first year the university will sell tickets for just $5, he said." Already we have a dozen locals lined up for our game on November 21.
Just had my pacemaker battery replaced after 10 plus years of faithful service, so I'll be making an effort to attend our mini on September 19. Sorry to report the loss of Bill Nutt on October 10, 1997.
