Jack Alden although retired is on the Board of Trustees of the school of the University Settlement. He is on Mayor Wagner's Committee to study the juvenile delinquency problem in New York City, a challenging demanding assignment and discouraging in that it is hard to make headway without funds. He lives in a Dartmouth Community now where "all are babies, the oldest is in the Class of 1927."

"TD" Jewett flew to Merrie Old England by TWA on August 23 and returned September 15 visiting London, Liverpool, Arundel Castle, Oxford, Ashford, Margate and Birkinhead. He and Marian, with perhaps Betty on from Los Angeles, will be at the Reunion in June"

Following the Earle Bidwells' trip to Europe this summer, First Lt. Bruce Bidwell and Miss Liese Hodann, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Randolph A. Hodann of Schwaig Bei Nurnberg, Germany were married on Sep- tember 28 in St. Lorenz Lutheran Church, Nurnberg, in a Military Ceremony followed by a reception at Kulturverein. After a trip through Italy and to Munich for the Octpber Fest they will live in Schweinfurt where Bruce is executive officer of Motor Battery, Seventh Infantry,' loth Div. U.S.A.

Line and Lucy Wilson were in New England in September; Boston, Hanover, with trips into Maine and Vermont. They flew then to Bermuda for a week and back to San Mateo, Calif., via New York. Lucy is all enthused with New England and the antique shops so they will be back in June, 1958- , ,

Maurice "Cap" Avery has swapped the old Pine Tree for the old Palm Tree at Boynton Beach, Fla. He is interested in the history of Hannah Dustin of Haverhill and Penacook fame. Any interested can contact him at Box 1183.

Bill Tower returned to New York to get the Harvard score, from a trip to Spain, Gibraltar and London.

Ralph Banman, having joined the ranks of the retired, is in Florida until they return in June for the 45th. Ed Grothe also leaves South Dakota for the cold months.

Bob Mungal is still working in Anaheim to complete a comprehensive general plan of development. He has watched the city grow from 15,000 to 70,000 due largely, perhaps, to Disneyland.

After a long illness Herman Parkinson passed away on October 19, 1957. The sympathy of the class is extended to Constance and their son and daughters. The funeral service was conducted by Rev. Arthur Stanley Wherlock '14 who had been a life long friend. Edmund Freeman had reported last summer that when they called on the Parkinsons, Parky had seemed to have failed.

Merry Christmas to all. See you in June 1958-
