The Connecticut River Journey Through Time is a onehour documentary by Connecticut Public TV. Our Ike Weed was one of those interviewed. During spring term Ike led four alumni from Pittsburg down the Connecticut River to Hanover.

In a phone call found that Chet Berry has slowed down a bit. He is not playing golf but has had many summer family guests. Daughter from Alt. Shasta, son from San Diego, and a daughter just returning from six weeks in Kyoto, Japan. Kyoto is a cultural center and was not considered as a bombing target in WWII.

Haven't had Sid McPherson in this column before. At a dinner party I met a Trinity '40 who knew a Dartmouth '40. Of course I had to call Sid and found that he had gone to high school with a close friend and that he had practiced in Hartford. Sid does medical-legal work a couple of days a week as an expert witness. With family on both coasts he and Estelle have driven cross country many times. Haven't been to Kentucky yet.

During a pleasant dinner with Joyce and Brownie Browne learned that they stopped in Maryland on their way north in May to see granddaughter Robyn Linter receive a master's in social work. Then in September, after a tour of Yellowstone, Grand Tetons, Salt Lake City, and Denver, they flew to Bend, Ore., for grandson Todd Linter's wedding.

Understand from Scotty Rogers that Joe Huber, after chasing her for four years, married Phyllis Wescott in Hingham. Mass. The 1940s attending were Gary Allen, Joe Burnett, Henry Stokes, Ike Weed, and Stet Whitcher.

Tag Tatgenhorst writes, "Went to an Elderhostel in Colorado, which was great fun, but Estes Park was closed because of snow." Had a very active family summer, but added "There's a 20-inch bass in our lake, so the State of Kentucky informs us. I'm hoping, with a son along, to catch the S.O.B."

Bud Hewitt always sends good class news. First he relayed a note from Bob Weil commenting on Bud's 80th birthday. "You must think you are the youngest guy in the class. I won't be 79 until November, and Ed Schechter is half a year younger than I am." Speaking of young, Bud recalls that we started at Lord and Taylor in NYC at 525 a week for six days now top business school grads get a minimum of $115,000. Also heard that retired Prof. Chet Garrison stepped into a hidden hole and broke a bone in his foot. Now recovering on crutches and a protective boot.

August, took Donna and me to Montana to attend the wedding of our second granddaughter. Stops you a bit to realize you were the oldest in the wedding party. So I have seven to go the youngest born in October.
