Several of you responded to an appeal for a '29 Aegis, and Bob Fairchild's copy is now on the shelf at the Hanover Inn. Thank you, all! Herb Ball's widow, Joan, called from Houston, Texas, and we hope to see each other next time Rip and I visit my daughter there.
Hanover has been busy with Commencement and reunions, and the weather was awful. The Green was a sea of umbrellas during the ceremonies, the valedictorian chose not to speak, everyone else spoke fast, including Doris Kearns Goodwin, who delivered a fine address to the graduates. The 65th and 50th reunion classes sat patiently(?) through 2-1/2 hours, while we watched at home on TV.
The Dartmouth community is delighted with Jim and Susan Wright as the next occupants of the President's House.
We attended a concert by die University Chorus of the Upper Valley and reuning former Glee Clubbers. It was well done and fun, and one member introduced the group as The Viagratones to great applause.
We have lost several classmates lately: Bud Foulks, Arch Young, and Ted Arliss, and the widows of Bob Austin and John Turnbull. Our sincere sympathy is extended to their families.
Rip's verse for the month: "In most of the arguments I've heard Wherever and often I roam, The guy who holds back for the last word Finds everyone else has gone home."
