This is the day of the Superbowl, which reminds us of a not-too-good football season for Dartmouth but it could have been worse! We could have been 0 and 10 instead of 2 and 8. The two games we won were by a margin of three points each. Lafayette outplayed us, missed two easy field goals, and lost to us in overtime. Yale completely overwhelmed us and had the ball on our five-yard line when time ran out on a controversial decision. Looking at it optimistically we could have been 5 and 5, as we only lost to Penn and Cornell by three points each and to Brown on their next-to-the-last-play-of-the-game touchdown. We saw most of the games but didn't see many '34s. We did see Dick Gruen at one of the home games, Marge and Stan Smoyer, and Hank Bryan and Janie DeRiemer at Princeton.

Speaking of Dick Gruen, who enjoys life in Kendal at Hanover by seeing so many Dartmouth friends and college events he is still active in outdoor activities, mostly walks and cross-country skiing, some hikes and sightseeing in the mountains. His sons, Dietrich and Bill, visit him every three months from

Madison. Wisc., and Washington, D.C., and are a big help. His health is good but his memory is failing so the doctors decided it was best for him to move into an assisted living situation where the medical staff is nearby and has all his meals provided. He would love to hear from you so drop him a line at Kendal at Hanover, 80 Lyme Road, Apt. 31, Hanover, NH 0375,5.

With sadness we report the deaths of Benton Blair, Walter Monroe Bryant, S.Henry "Hank" Werner, and HarlanParker "Beansie" Banks. Our sympathies are extended to their families.

We are looking forward to a big turnout for our 65th Reunion from Friday, June 11, to Sunday, June 13. Be there!
