Since our last we have learned of the loss of Harry Sinclair on last September 1. Look for his obit in an upcoming issue. Not much news coming our way of late. We know of a '39 gathering in Naples, but this time, rather than hostess Betsy Wyman Emmons, we have co-hosts Bob Cushman and Jack Cumming. It is going on almost as we write, which does not coincide with "as you read." We had to miss the party due to the arrival of guests from the North.
Joyce Hine, the widow of Tom, reports that her last child has finally moved out of her home, and she is taking the opportunity of moving to a retirement campus where she has been a volunteer for the past ten years. She says it's kind of like "going home."
Jen Willheim, widow of Bob, has moved from Walnut Creek, CA, to 12517 Stanwood Place, Los Angeles, CA 90066.
Bunny and Bill Webster's son Pete, the mayor of Essex, Conn., has endeared himself to his constituency by cooking up a Gaston beef stew annually, which is enjoyed by friends and any and all interested and hungry voters. He says that he learned how to make and cook the stew from his mother, and he serves it from his office at the town hall. They say in the past he has solicited for funds to provide the makings, but this year he "has not gotten around to it."
Bill Fairweather and wife Gara spend some of the winter months at Naples, Fla., but much of it is still spent in Akron, where Gara has a five-gaited filly that she is training.
Best sign up for the gala 60th coming up June 14-16. It'll be fun. So far, 150 men and spouses have signed up.
