Does it seem like you have a wedding to attend every month? I hear they come in waves and we are definitely riding one. I recendy attended Doug Chia's April wedding to his law school sweetheart, Jessica Chun (Penn '94), in Philadelphia, Pa. It was a gorgeous day and a wonderful wedding. Other '93s in attendance were David Hsu (best man), Andrew Beebe (groomsman), Amanda Roth Salzhauer and husband Michael 'B4, David Krause, and JoshBers and wife Marina. Dave graduated from Columbia University Business School this spring and currendy lives in New York City. Andrew is having a ball running his venture capital company in San Francisco. Amanda and Michael live in New York City, where Amanda is a social worker. David Krause is living in the Granite State and enjoying the New England pace of life. Finally, Josh and Marina are residing in Cambridge, Mass.
Doug and Jessica moved to Hong Kong after a two-week honeymoon in Hawaii. Life's rough, eh? Doug works for the law firm of Clifford Chance and will be in their large Hong Kong office for the next two years. Doug is enjoying his first few months in Hong Kong, according to his own words: "Hong Kong, like New York, is extremely energetic and cosmopolitan. Everything you could possibly imagine is obtainable, including great food, endless shopping, long hikes through lush forests, secluded beaches on remote islands, and bootleg copies of ThePhantom Menace (opening in theaters here July 1)! All this, and the fact that I was able to catch almost the entire Knicks-Pacers series, has made our time here wonderful so far." If you are in Asia and can hop over to Hong Kong, get in touch with Doug at and he will show you the town.
As I mentioned, this is the year of weddings. I received an announcement that Andrew Sezak married Katy Walsh in Boston, Mass., on May 1, 1999. JeffreyMiddents e-mailed to inform me of his impending nuptials to Angela Dadak '92 in October 1999 in Cape Cod. Jeff is currently a graduate student studying comparative literature and writing a dissertation on Latin American cinema. He admits to being known on campus as "the film guy." One other note from Jeff, if you still have your back copies of the Dartmouth AlumniMagazine, you'll notice a cover with a woman posing for a photographer. Jeff wants everyone to know that yes, it looks "almost exactly" like Angela, and that the photographer looks "suspiciously from behind like me" but "it is not us."
Heather Deering wrote in from New York City. Heather is planning a September wedding (need I say more about the wave of weddings...) to Chris Crosby, a fellow Harvard Business School classmate. They are delighted to have Holbrook Newman,Margot Whinery Pearce, Margaret FieldKelly, Julie Thut, Courtney Molloy, and Clara Rankin in the wedding party. Heather currently works for Goldman, Sachs & Co. in their risk arbitrage department. She lives with Holbrook, who works for Morgan Stanley.
Finally, George Ramos (Rainerio G.Ramos) says hello to everyone, especially the "North Hall Guys" and the "Bones Gaters." He reports he is happily married, is an assistant vice president in a bank, and is working on a book of poetry, The NewroticWorm. He invites his old buddies to e-mail him at .
