We are writing this slightly after mid-August and less than a month away from our mini-reunion and the start of our football season, which we trust will be an improvement over the past two years, which were 2 and 8. This is a rebuilding year with many freshmen and sophomores and unless they mature faster than expected the best we can hope for is 4 and 6. At our September '99 mini, Oscar Cohn was praising a freshman running back from his hometown, Clint Soper, who didn't play last year because of injuries. If he can produce and add importance to a woeful running attack that gained only 732 yards in the 10 games of last year it might add up to a few more victories. We have a good passing quarterback, Brian Mann, with a splendid corps of young returning receivers.

Em Day, our class vice president and newsletter editor, had to fill out the College's annual class activity report about our activities and advised that our class had set a new record for alumni giving for a class 65 years out. He added that Bill Wilson be recommended for recognition for being a six-times reunion chairman and longtime class treasurer.

Our class thanks are extended to Bob Engelman, Stan Smoyer, Irja Wilson and their corps of class agents who raised $209,000, which broke the previous record of $133,000 for a class 66 years out.
