Several classmates heeded my plea and sent me e-mails with news. Unfortunately, my hard drive crashed, taking with it all my files, programs, etc. No, I didn't have a zip drive. Yes, I do, now. Fortunately, I was able to contact Susan Kepes Hull, who obliged by resending her news. "Living in Portland Maine with my husband of 17 years, Alan Hull (Wake Forest University '79), and our 3-old-daughter Linn'ea Jade Hull. Linn'ea was born in Jianxi Province, China, and joined our family shortly after her first birthday. We are seriously prejudiced ourselves, but it is widely agreed that Linn'ea is a bright, lively, sociable little charmer. Alan and I are both physician assistants, we met at the Medical School of Wake Forest University (formerly known as the Bowman Gray School of Medicine). I practice primary care pediatrics, and I love my work."

Bill McLaughlin is in transit, having opted out of expat life after stints in various countries, most recently in England. While I do not have all the details that vanished with my files, I do know that Bill and family are relocating to Minneapolis, where Bill has joined Select Comfort Beds. Steve Adnopoz has been appointed counsel sel of Torys New York's public finance practice. As counsel Steve will continue his practice primarily as bond counsel, underwriters counsel and counsel to credit enhancers and borrowers in municipal finance transactions.

While perusing the Wall Street Journals "Work & Family" column last month, I noticed a quote by none other than Duane Peterson, chief of stuff at Ben & Jerrys. Duane wrote "Having spent the weekend toiling in my oxymoronic home office,' cooperating computer/modem/ fax/cell phone, I'd just as soon trade them all in for the inability to communicate with folks after hours,' and return to doing business during business hours like my parents did." I fired off an e-mail to Duane, who replied with additional information on his life and his job as "chief of stuff." [What a great job title!] "Been a wild six months, as the global corporate consolidation that drew thousands into the streets of Seattle and Washington has infected even Ben & Jerrys. Bought by Unilever, a not wellknown global holding company with $45 billion annual sales and 326,000 employees across 88 countries. And now us. The good news is that we negotiated not just the continuation of ourvalues-led business activities, but a significant expansion inside Ben & Jerrys and even out into the Unilever family. As Ben's chief of stuff, I'll be real busy trying to make this promise a reality. Place your bets."

On a sad note, Robin Hill passed away from breast cancer on March 3. Robin had been a social science analyst at the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute at the National Institutes of Health, where she had worked since 1989. Our condolences to Robins husband and son.

Please send news.
