This past Memorial Day weekend more than 40,000 people gathered in Colorado for an amazing event—and I'm not talking about the Avalanche being eliminated from the Stanley Cup play-offs. Actually these people flock annually for the Bolder Boulder, a 10K road race. For the second year, Lynn Hollenbeck and I have gone and enjoyed the hospitality of Jean Gleason. Our mini mini-reunion was rounded out this year by co-column-writer Ken Johnson and his two gorgeous girls. The Johnson trio joined in for a day of swimming and barbecuing (but were no-shows for the race). When K.J. told me he was in training for the weekend event, I guess running wasn't what he had in mind! Lynn is working as a lawyer at Pillsburylaw in San Francisco, running around with her two kids Pepper and Kysen. Jean is still renovating multiple houses in Boulder, and working for GE (again).

A marriage announcement in The New YorkTimes; Ralph Jeffers Belford III (a.k.a. "Jeb"), married Cecily Gammon. Jeb is a director in the acquisitions department of Clarion Partners, while his new wife is studying at the New York School of Interior Design.

From The Capital District Business Review (that would be out of Albany, New York): Morgan Stanley Dean Witter announced that Dave Brown had earned the firms National Sales Director Award, conferred on financial advisors who have demonstrated leadership in the first 12 months with the firm.

Stephen Farnsworth, who began his career in newspapers, now comments on politics and the media as a professor at Mary Washington College in Virginia. This change in career has produced accolades from those who know him as a teacher. Stephen received an award from the 1999 graduating class at MWC as the teacher who had the greatest impact on their lives. Kudos.
