Received a nice letter from Janie DeRemer, who advises that Hank Bryan is recovering from his broken leg, although he is still on a walker but thinks he will be able to do without it eventually. And maybe he will, as he is very determined. Her new home is working out just fine and she is enjoying her life there—only eight minutes from her daughter—and she finds it very easy to deal with a three-room apartment plus kitchen and bath. While they would both love to come to our mini-reunion in September, it is almost impossible as they both presently are on walkers.

A note from Jeff Jackson in New Mexicoadvising of Bill Rench s death—that he and Sue are fine and his best to the gang.

Now that the Dartmouth football season is slightly less than one month away it is time for our annual prediction. We see a slight improvement over our performance of the last three years, each of which was 2 and 8. If we get our share of the breaks. Barring serious or multiple injuries, we could be 5 and 5. Most of our offensive line, along with two sets of backfields and a fine corps of good wide receivers, are returning. Our main problem appears to be the defense, which we hope will improve. Hope to see some of you guys and gals at the games.

With sadness we report the deaths of Howie Gussenhoven, Bernie Cushman and my Horace Mann classmate Jerry Danzig.
