The mini-reunion in October drew 20 classmates to the meeting on Saturday morning and 55 classmates, wives and guests to the dinner Saturday evening at the Norwich Inn. Repairs on the senior fence, underwritten by the class, have been completed. The next mini-reunion is scheduled for the weekend of October 20,2001. Joe Hayes, our mini-reunion chairman, was unable to attend for reason of a heart condition, which is now under control. We wish him well and expect him to chair the affair next fall. Our thanks go to Ham Chase, who served as chairman.

Bob Kirsch, who set up our successful 50th reunion, has agreed to chair our 55th. He notes that we are closer now to our 55 th than to the 50th, which is past. The dates will be Monday to Wednesday, June 10-12,2002. Accommodations will be in Buchanan Hall in the Tuck School, with a low-key program planned. Mark your calendars now!

Arnold Weber sent along a copy of his children's book Little One Ear, which was distributed to 6,000 local school students at Thanksgiving as a plea for tolerance and consideration among school-age children. Illustrations were selected from submissions made by the school students. Arnie hastens to add that he left the shirt manufacturing business in 1967 and in 1972 moved from New York to Dallas, where he commenced building sports facilities. Presently he is retired and involved in painting, writing and raising his two sons, ages 6 and 10.

We received a copy of Russ Frasers 16th book, Singing Masters, dealing with Englishspeaking poets of the past five centuries. Russ is emeritus professor of English at the University of Michigan, where he taught until 1995.

Joe Eisaman planned a skiing junket to Aspen in January and mentioned trying to get tickets for the Olympics in Salt Lake City in 2002. He notes that Fred Frassinelli has started a new home in Bridgeport, whsile Sandy Gross ranks as the lord of Larchmont. Dottie and Ham Chase should be back from a trip to St. Lucie with a group from Keene, New Hampshire. They plan to participate in a Dartmouth-sponsored trip to Ireland in September and invite any interested classmates to join them. Bob Motlong and Nancy have sold their home in Denver and moved to Phoenix full time, except for traveling. They are heavily into golf while at home.

The sympathy of the class is extended to the wives and families of classmates who passed away recently: Sydney Lishner, who died in May, and Robert Osterstock, who died in November.
