Most of my news this time is business related with one recreational note and, sadly, one death.

Howard Weinberg has more than 20 years experience focusing on the strategic and operational impact of competition and deregulation on the telecommunications industry. He uses this experience working for Deloitte Consultings telecommunications and media practice. Howard has served on the editorial board of Telecommunications Law and Business and also as an editor of the North AmericanGuide to Electronic Mail and Messaging Systems.

Internet Healthcare Group has recently appointed Paul Glover senior vice president of operations and strategy. IHCG is a leading Internet health-care holding company that accelerates the growth and long-term investment potential of its network of partner companies. Paul previously served as senior vice president of Travelers Corp.

If you are a frequent flier, you have a friend in Fred Klein. He is president of GRA Aviation Specialists Inc., an airline consulting group. His work essentially is trying to make airlines more accountable for their increasingly poor service.

"Who you gonna call?" If you're a doctor with an impending malpractice suit, the answer is Jud Graves. Jud has been named by the National Law Journal as one of the 10 best U.S. litigators. His success stems from his intense single-mindedness about defending doctors against wrongful lawsuits. Apartner says that Jud is a very gifted speaker who is always prepared and presents his cases in away the jury can understand.

Unfortunately, I must relate news of the death of Ross Vasta. He was a professor of psychology at SUNY Brockport. He leaves his wife and two children. Memorial contributions can be sent to the Ross Vasta Memorial Scholarship Fund c/o Brockport College Foundation at SUNY Brockport or to the American Cancer Society.
