From the mailbag: Dennis Mineiy reports he and his wife, Ivy, are doing well and that on a recent trip to Germany for a niece's wedding they had the chance to spend time with Bob MacKay in Berlin. Bob is writing a book about the Potsdam Conference that sounds fascinating.
I received word via the class of '48 secretary that David Harscheid died in San Diego on July 30 "after a. long and brave battle with Parkinsons." An obituary will appear later.
Give a Wah, Hoo, Wah for Alan Peyser, who was awarded the Distinguished Alumni Award from his high school alma mater, Sidwell Friends. So, too, for Thomas Krampf, who was guest poet recently in Hornell, New York, after a residency at the Linenhall Arts Center in Castlebar, Ireland, where he conducted poetry workshops and gave readings.
Ted Briggs was the subject of a long article recently in the Litchfield County Times of New Milford, Connecticut, recounting his career in the Foreign Service that stretched over five decades.
