Believe it or not, the next reunion will be our 65th! As this last one goes down in the record books, the class owes its thanks to the members who worked so hard to make it a success. First bow goes to president Dave Heald, who was the guiding hand in all of this. Jack Corwith, chairman of Another Hurrah!, not only did a great job in organizing the event but picked a group of volunteers who all performed at top level. Let's credit them: Bob Kirk, assistant chair; Art Henderson, treasurer; Ginia and Huntly Allison, entertainment, memorial service; Dutch Schaeffer, golf; Leo Caproni, catering and wines; Wally Farr, refreshments; George Rounds, Charles Weinberg and Bob Searles, utility roles; Bob Encherman, publicity and attendance. A rousing 42 cheer for these unpaid, unsung heroes.
You can send me the names of any others you think deserve kudos—and for that matter any thoughts or comments you have on the reunion or the bash at The Balsams that followed. I'd like to hear your impressions
And while we're on the subject of gratitude, let's recognize the leaders who have guided the class through these last five years with enthusiasm, creativity and a dose of practicality as well. That list again starts off with recognition of the great work done by Dave Heald in steering the course. He was assisted by vice president Proc Page, second vice president Jim Rendall, treasurer Frank Faruolo, head agent Buzz Cassidy, newsletter editor Bob Encherman, bequest chairman Guy Swenson, assistant bequest & widows Betty Keirstead, mini-reunion chairman Huntly Allison, and chairman of women's affairs Ginia Allison. A tip of our hat to all these stalwarts who have labored on our behalf for the past halfdecade.
I owe an apology to Ruth and Ed Doty, who called me about the item last spring which mentioned their current residency at a Buffalo senior facility that he compares favorably with Kendal in Hanover. He says the food is a lot better than the "OK" rating I gave it, their living quarters are superior and they have many great neighbors. We're glad you both are enjoying your new life.
