As I wrap up my term as class secretary, I want to thank all of you who have contributed class news to my columns over the past four years. It has been great fun to receive all the e-mails and letters from folks. Before I end with the last few tidbits left in my mailbag, I thought it might be fun to recount some of the more memorable messages I received. One that stands out as the most bizarre is a postcard I received from Craig Josephs, Mike Fauerbach and Taro Aikawa from a bar on Whistler Mountain after they had randomly heard on the radio that Sara Leach had won a grocery bag giveaway from a local supermarket. The most memorable baby announcement came from Nicola Zesiger Mullen on the birth of her triplets (yes, that means three babies at one time). The Mullen clan 2001 Christmas card is still up in my house. Finally, the most memorable engagement story came from Andrew Beebe, whose then-fiancee was flung from a horse and broke her wrist during a romantic engagement weekend while fly-fishing in Wyoming.

After that brief walk down class secretary memory lane, back to the present class news. Doug Chia and his wife, Jessica, have moved back to Manhattan after three fabulous years in Hong Kong. Doug had been working for Simpson, Thatcher & Bartlett in Hong Kong and is now in the New York office. Welcome back to the U.S. of A., Doug.

I heard from another wonder-mom classmate, Marianne Ruhl Nikas. Marianne earned her M.D. from Penn State and finished her family practice residency in Philadelphia. She is currently working in private practice in Pottstown, Pennsylvania. Marianne got married in August 2000 to Alex Nikas '95 and the two have an 8month-old son named Cole. Alex is working at Merck as an epidemiologist and is attending Temple Law School at night.

Finally, Julie (Gordon) Willis wrote in to let me know she is moving to the D.C. area and taking a new job as a senior vice president of marketing for the Discovery Channel. After eight years in advertising at Leo Burnett in Chicago, Julie has decided to take the plunge and pursue a longtime interest in entertainment marketing. Julie is married to Patrick Willis (Miami of Ohio '90) who works for McKinsey and Co. alongside Mike Murray. Julie mentioned that she is in close contact with Lauren Anderson and Missy Antman. Best of luck on the new job, Julie, and welcome to D.C.
