Is this a trend? Three '42 couples have sold their homes in the Hanover area in recent months to consolidate. Dottie and Dutch Schaefer sold their home in Eastman and are now down to two homes in New Jersey and one in Florida. Millie and Jack Corwith recendy sold their place in Grantham and have switched permanently to their home in Venice, Florida. And Judy and Charles Weinberg sold their home in Etna to concentrate their living in their Hartsdale, New York, home. Any others out there who have done likewise?

The Corwiths, incidentally, report a "great trip" down three rivers in Europe to Vienna last year.

Dr. Ward Jenkins moved to the Wake Robin Continuing Care Retirement Center in Shelburne, Vermont, some time ago, same residence as Ruth and Proc Page.

I'm indebted to Scotty Matthews' daughter, Elizabeth, for sending me a copy of his last letter a Christmas 2002 greeting to family and friends. He wrote that he had been hit by macular degeneration, and had spent six weeks at the VA, where their "fantastic program" helped him get around better and safer.

Kate and Dick Riggs have a sailboat in the British Virgin Islands and they regularly go down and sail in that area's warm waters. They are planning that again this year and may already have gone.

Bill Mitchel's widow, Fran, tells me that Bill willed a life-sized sculpture, Head of Christ (1954) by Sir Jacob Epstein, to the Hood Museum in Hanover and that's where it resides today. It's a piece he had for many years and they displayed it on their terrace.

Dr. Jim Robinson checks in from Leesburg, Virginia, where he and Rose-Joan now reside. He sent me a poem which is unfortunately too long for this column but shows off his talent. Keep up the writing Jim.

Start making plans now for the 2004 mini- reunion. Huntly Allison, based on the success of last year's weekend, has reserved the Lake Morey Inn for three nights, Thursday, October 7, through Sunday, October 10, including the Yale-Dartmouth football game. The extra day should help make the decision easier for those who have to travel a distance.
