We recently learned that Elizabeth Sherman has been admitted to the class of 2008. She is the great-granddaughter of Mike Sherman, granddaughter of Bill Sherman '56 and daughter of Bill Sherman '81. A proud Dartmouth tradition.

Congratulations, Elizabeth!

Bill Andres' son-in-law, Jonathan Moore '54, was among four Dartmouth graduates honored at the third annual Martin Luther King Jr. celebration with the social justice award.

In the last Groton School Quarterly, Bill's grandson, Gus Rogerson, tells about giving up his acting career and now works as artistic director at The 52nd Street Project in N.Y.C. This is a project working with children ages 9 to 18 from Hells Kitchen.

We are sad to report the death of Dr. Bob Fairchild of Syracuse, New York. He was one of three high school classmates from Rutland, Vermont, who all went on to become doctors. The others being Al Bellerose Jr. and Gordon Smith. Bob could always be counted on for keeping in touch, and we shall miss that. We extend our sympathy to his widow and children.

Last December a multimillion dollar gift was received by Dartmouth from the estate of Marvin Braverman's widow, Anne.

Rip: When they asked Andrew Carnegie, the wise old Scot, What he planned for the future he answered, "Not! I'll appoint young managers who think like me. When the future comes then they'll be there to see."
