In early May Boyce Price, our man in Kendal at Hanover, had an intestinal problem that turned out to be colon cancer. He had an operation to remove the affected area, and a month check-up indicated that the operation was a complete success. We hope that his recovery will continue to be successful and that he will soon be back to normal.
Speaking of Kendal, Mim Macurda has moved to assisted living in that facility, and we hope that she is thriving in her new environment. Milt Johnston has moved to a nursing home in New London, and Marge says he would enjoy hearing from classmates. His address is: The Clough Center-Room 302,273 County Rd., New London, NH 03257.
Ed Drechsel says he is dependent on a walker, and with Ilona's help is trying to clear out their house in preparation for a move to Canada near family.
Bob Button is still going strong with his orchestra. Back in the spring they played a concert of Big Band era music at a local middle school. I think it's great that young students are still being exposed to our kind of music. When not involved with his music Bob has been busy writing a book about his experiences in U.S. Army Intelligence during WW II. I look forward to reading that.
In closing, I was happy to receive a picture of Art Funk, looking very fit in his tennis gear, being congratulated by several of his tennis buddies on his 90th birthday. It's nice to know that there are more classmates who are still quite active.
